Problem Description Sheet: Talking About Shapes Introduction: We see many different shapes around us all the time. Some shapes are common to us. Others are not as common. There is probably a lot that you know about some of the common shapes like the ones drawn below. Problem: Look at the two shapes that are drawn below. Think about them for a while. Write or show everything you can think of about the shapes. What things are the same about them? What things are different about them? See how many things you can write.
Materials: If it is helpful, you can draw or copy the shapes so you can work with them. Pencil, paper, ruler, calculator, and scissors might be helpful. Extra Question: Draw two other shapes. Write about these and compare them. |
